Secret Santa Warmer

12/12/2012 17:30

Right now, in this weather, the last thing you want to do it head out into town with your best frock on. Lo and behold, an outfit that sneakily warms you up without any bulkiness.

I'm actually wearing three pairs of thee quarter length leggings under my figure hugging thermal dress from Primark- only £10.00. Also, I'm wearing cute, warm frilly socks fom Topshop to keep my tootsies warm at only £3.95

However, my favourite thing about this sophisticated yet toasty get up has to be the necklace from Topshop (I've been crushing on this for a month now) at only £14.00. This stops the whole outfit from entering into the "midi-length, grey dress with long johns granny" category. Big fan. Wrap up warm this Christmas ladies, but try not to look like an old maid.

12/12/2012 17:18

Although you may think the heritage trend that's scattered across many feather haired babes only aquires a beige, brown and grey colour pallette, these black and white dogtooth skin tight treggings update this timeless look.

These are only £28.00 from topshop

Maggie's Farm

23/11/2012 22:29

I've only ever seen the label, "Maggie's Farm" in Edinburgh's Topshop, but after liking their page on Facebook, I've noticed they're an established business in Dundee and Dunfermline. What better way to feel good by guilt free shopping at an independant store- and with such a cute name. Here are some of my favourite picks, at a snip:

Wrap Dress:£34.00

Graphic Florals

07/11/2012 20:21

Hats off to H&M and their fabulous Lana Del Ray campaign. And a further applaud to who ever designed these beaut graphic floral pieces. This week, I picked out some favourites.

This was surprisingly my favourite look. Not one for androgyny, The subtle florals on the side of this shirt gave the look a girl twist, paired with trousers which fit like a dream. An innovative alternative to leggings when trying to keep warm this Winter.

Shirt:£19.99  Trousers:£29.99

This shift looked great on the hanger, but on closer inspection, the material was slightly too slippery,

it had an awkward hem length, and the buttons at the back were too much of a hassle. Lovely pattern though,

and a snip at only £17.99. Felt like it though.

Eye-Catching pattern? Check. True Body Con? Check. Slimming Pattern? Check. Day dress in the winter? em, no. This would definitely be better suited on a night out with chunky wedges, but still a good buy. £19.99.

This was my favourite pattern, and oddly easy to wear, considering its busyness. Paired with something plain, the skirt does the talking. However, I noticed at the back, the hem was broken; as was a majority of the others. Perhaps it was a bad batch, but I still decided to stay well away from any potentially humiliating wardrobe malfunctions.

Skirt :£14.99

Creeped Out

07/11/2012 20:16

The new "cool kicks", "Creeper Shoes", are hitting the high street in a big way."The Creeper" has been donning the tootsies of fashionistas who willingly describe their style as "Heroin Chic". I rest my case. These clumpy catastrophes are a massive no no in my books.Usually, when showing anything I've found and upload to the website, I publish where it was found and how much it is. However, to protect people from bad shoe syndrome, I'm going to refrain from doing so.

Just Wrong.

Hey Hum Pig's Plum

07/11/2012 19:59

Although my obsession with black dresses is at it's peak, this week, I had a snoop around at one of  this season's most wanted colours, plum. Although hard to pull off without looking too mitchy matchy granny, this colour warms up any outfit, and a somewhat rare colour to wear, gives your outfit a unique and subtly fruity twist.

Undoubtedly my favourite peice, This lace peplum top comes in at £16.99 from New Look.I loved these plum corduroy plum shorts are good quality, and super cute, with a "tight in all the right places" feel. These came in at £26.00. Cheap as chips considering they go with everything.

This was a cute skirt I found in River Island for £16.00. It's not my style at all; if I had legs up to my arm pits, I'd have went for it though.

The Midi-Kitten-Court Heel

04/11/2012 14:19

I have, in the past, been quoted saying, "I want to throw copies of Vogue at anyone wearing a fucking kitten heel". However, I can't help but feel a forbidden lust for the new geek chic heel, which, of course no one has tried out for a night out. Get a touch of lower-heeled class in these bad boys:

                                                                                                    Missguided, £35.99

Wear with tailored chinos or a skirt which hits around 3 inches above the knee to avoid the "these were my mum's in 90's" feel. With a nude shoe, wear with bare legs to lengthen them.

The New Understated Statements

02/11/2012 20:42

Of course, accessorizing is the way forward when your wardrobe is looking slightly past it's sell by date. This week, I purchased some statement necklaces from New Look to stop me from buying an entirely new outfit. Lo and Behold, they were Buy One Get One Free, so it was a guilt free shop.

Silver Chain: £7.99                     Gold Fish Bone Detail:£5.99

And yes,, there was an ungodly ammount of crucifix inspired necklaces; I think this may need to be avoided now as the whole "hipster" image may have been well and truly milked.

The Disco Pants

02/11/2012 20:41

Yes, the less slobby equivelent of the everyday cotton legging has been revamped into a shiny new sister legging. Hallelujiah, right? Well, no, because it seems the high street continues to be preoccupied with pleather leggings, much to the magpies of fashion's dismay.

For those who find it easy to whip out their card on front of their computer screen and lustfully enter their card details, to only wait in great suspense for the arrival of your online purchased garment, Boohoo have come up trumps with these High Shine Disco Pants:

Thankfully, River Island have stepped in and quenched our thirsts with a cheap pair of Disco Pants for only £15.99. However, they are slightly see-through, so watch you're at least wearing you're best pair of pants.
